many people show no visible symptoms. to tell if you have it, you could get an hpv dna test, though they can be expensive and most doctors will only recommend them if you are having a problem (i.e. abnormal pap or esp. cancer) also, you need to get a mirror and check your labia for any abnormal spots or warts.

If my Pap Smear comes out normal is their still a good chance that I could have Hpv, and if I do have it would it be a kind that your immune system could overcome?

if you pap comes out normal, all that means is that hpv isnt causing cellular changes in your cervix. it doesnt mean you dont have it. there is no telling if your immune system can fight it off b/c everyones immune system is diff. if you dont have an active breakout, there is no way for doctors to tell if you have hpv or not. if you have had sex then there is a good chance you could have hpv. hope this helps.

the large white area is called dysplasia and yes, about 95-98% of the time, dysplasia is caused by hpv. there are rare instances of ppl with it who dont have hpv. yes you can have a strain that causes no warts. if you check the post "regarding the "cure" debate" i included links to pages talking about the strains that most often cause warts and which ones are less likely. hope this helps.=)
