Different Strains/Different Immunity Ranges?

I've done a lot of reading on this site and others that mentions that many professionals believe that HPV immunity develops within a couple of years for most people. However, none of these articles ever state what strain or strains of the virus they are referring to -- are they only talking about the kinds that cause abnormal paps? I guess the question I'm asking is: Is there any research to show that immunity can be built up against the HPV that causes genital warts within a rather short time period?

You only build up immunity to
something you have been exposed to,
either via a vaccine or skin-to-skin
contact. Porfessionals seem to agree
that most people conquer the HPV virus
but that it takes time. And a healthy
immune system...Although there are no
guarantees, since a seemingly healthy
person can continue to get warts.
These researchers are referring to all
strains of HPV, in general.

The agreement seems to be that people
who are exposed to the warts virus
build up an immunity to it. However,
chances are you can/will get exposed
to another strain of HPV at some point
in your life.
