I i heard about this, I think, it's 100% effective in women and , like, 80% effective in men. Its just preventative, its not a cure, but rumor has it a cure might be out as soon as 2006.

Will it cure those of us who have this desease or is it a vaccine for everyone that does not have it???

hope this is true. but i doubt it will work on anyone who already has it. i got it from someone who was using a condom but didn't know at the time u could still get it this way.

I read that the preventative ones are further along than the ones that cure people that already have it which sucks..but at least somebody is doing something I guess. The ones that cure it are at least 3 years out or something like that.

The very fact that major pharmaceutical companies are working on cures is proof that a lot of people have HPV. I should know because I work in the advertising / marketing sector. They are finally spending millions to deliver the drug to us because there is a mass market out there!!!

I hate to be negative but sounds like hearsay. There are vaccines in the works but the only ones I've heard that are even anywhere near close to being released are the ones to protect people that dont' have it already, not people that already have it.

Ok, chill down, I asked to another doctor about it, and its like this, yea its truth it will come out in 5 or 6 months but it will help the infected people too because if you get a shot of it, the desease wont come back, and plus we will have a normal sexual life again.......so trust me its our second chance so dont lets screw it up, but first of all you have to be "clean" outside and inside....understand?

So where's the info? I have seen a website that advertises this kind of thing, but it's hard to believe with all the health fraud scams that occur in Mexico. One truth that should be known to ALL hpv sufferers is that autologous vaccines are have been proven effective in treating hpv (look up the definition of autologous elsewhere) but are damnably costly and are currently only researched for use against cancers. Naturally, cervical cancer would likely be one of them.

Further, with all the potential profitabilty of an HPV vaccine and treatment you can bet your ass that there are plenty of scientists out there trying to crack it... I've been looking at the progress of the future of vaccine therapy and it seems like when it becomes approved for widespread use death rates from cancer will drop drastically. Meanwhile, try to live right to avoid developing cancer, it would be a terrible shame to die a preventable death.

Hang in there and good luck to everyone. This a horrible reality to face but at least there's a lot of hope for the future... provided society doesn't fall apart. I'm guessing that in less than 15 years medicine will be amazingly advanced as our new technology comes to bear. Clinical trials take 15 years to finish, and there have been tons of them that started in the 90s that are using the most modern tech and expertise to save lives.

ps in all that shit I was going off with I forgot to mention that I have read that Latin countries are more into autologous vaccines then others, because their health laws are less relaxed. So this person may not be full of shit, even though they have OMITTED the most relevant info: contact info. Claret, back your shit up!!!!! ; )

claret, so for those who carry HPV, how exactly will this vaccine contribute towards ourselves? Does it eliminate the virus forever? or keeps it dormant. Please elaborate so I can learn more.

Andrew, she doesn't know. What we need is to enlist Spanish speaking help to surf for Latin scientific info, 'cause they have more relaxed medcare guidelines than we do...

This's pathetic.. according to what I've researched, the shot she mentioned which will prevent you from the disease coming back only works for those with strains of cancer. NOT GENITAL WARTS.

for Andrew
well i read the page and from what i read it for genital wart and it has a 90% clear rate but me i wouldnt really believe this but hey one thing i do know for sure is that they got the one for hpv 16. Meerk i think that how you spell it is working on a multi strain vaccine on this and if everthing goes good it should be ready in about 8- 10 years
|
|
11/16/2003 6:46:13 AM

To Claret
Why do you say that you wouldn't believe it would clear genital warts? And since it's a vaccine.. will it really affect us who are HPV positive? What strains besides hpv 16 does that vaccine cure? Please help me out! Thanks. 8-10 years.. is too long..

I dont' know enough spanish to make out what types of HPV the vaccine cures. Does it work for 90% of the types for 90% of the people that have the right type that have tried it? Also, myself being in the US, I'll never see this...my HPV will probably clear up before any of these slow vaccines come out.
