I was wondering about cervical dysplasia, recently I was diagnosed with genital warts, in April, i had a pap done in december four months earlier with everything coming back normal, i went in again to get a pap done in May after i found out i had HPV, it came back abnormal, i was just treated with the LEEP procedure after being diagnosed with moderate to severe dysplasia, I am on birth control, how could it get this bad in such a short period of time?

• Can you have already contracted HPV but your pap smear shows up normal (even though you do have it) and then have a later pap smear where the HPV or "abnormal cells" do appear? I have not had sex with anyone else but my current boyfriend since my previous pap smear a year ago which was normal and the pap smear I just had diagnosed me with high risk HPV, but I am wondering if it could have been my first boyfriend (not that my current one) gave it to me and it just didnt show up until now?


• I have never had sex, or came in sexual contact with anyone when I discovered itchy bumps and some with hair in them. Is this a STD? If so how do you think I came in contact with it? ?


• I have been married for 3 years and had a daughter 1 year ago. Before my daughter was born I had abnormal paps all the time and I even had a colposcapy done on my cervix. Right before I found out I was pregnant my pap was abnormal again but they couldn''t do anything until my baby was born. After she was born I had another abnormal pap. My question is, how long can you carry HPV without any symptoms. Could I have gotten it at an early age but just now found out I had it?


• How do you know if you have genital warts or genital herpes? How do you know the difference? ?
