Question:

I had a large white bump in my pubic area, when it popped a ton of nasty looking puss came out and it bled a little. What could it be? It couldn''t be an ingrown hair or anything that has to do with hair because its where hair doesn't grow. I've looked at a million pictures and I can't find anything that looks like it?

It isn''t HPV. HPV has two types: high and low risk. High risk increases the risk for cervical cancer, low risk causes genital warts. Genital warts cannot be popped, they look a bit like fingers and do not contain pus. If scGenital Wartsd or irritated, they will bleed, but no other fluid is present. It is probably a condition called "folliculitis", which generally speaking, is an inflammation of a follicle. It could also be a small staph infection, which lives on our skin. Even a tiny microscopic tear in the skin can cause it to enter the tissue and form a lump that is filled with pus and can be popped. I would recommend that you see a doctor as soon as possible, as to rule out any serious underlying conditions. I am not a doctor and can't give you definitive answers. Any other questions, feel free to email. Good luck.
