Question:

Had my second abnormal pap. the nurse said my dna for hpv was negative. they are doing a colscopy. what would they be looking for? would that mean I have some other disease?

Most likely, they are performing a colscopy so they can get a better look at your cervix. You *might* have a new, unidentified strain of HPV. Until you hear back from your GYN, try to relax a bit and be glad that you get pap smears regularly so you can deal with this problem now and not later when it might be more serious!

Cervical dysplasia can occur for reasons other than HPV infection . Don''t worry

I had a pap done almost a year ago that came positive for dysplasia. I was told it would go away, I had another pap done 6 months after that.
I am 27 years old and I have cervical cancer, if they had treated my dysplasia I would not have this disease. Please make sure you get a second opinion as this is not something to mess around with...don''t wait!
