Boost your immune system is the best way to get over HPV, or any virus for that matter. Since you are dealing with a virus, the only true way to get over it is by your body building an immunity to it, like you would for a common cold or the chickenpox. Once you build an immunity to a virus, your symptoms will clear, you will no longer be contagious, and you won't get that same strain of that virus again because you carry that immunity with you. There is no real cure for the hpv virus. Most research has indicated the immune system clears the infection over time.Even at that it is also believed that even if never cleared by immune system after a while it is supressed so well that you will not be contagious any more. You will always have the HPV virus, so there is no telling if you will pass the virus to another person even if you don't have symptoms. When warts are gone, the virus is latent (sleeping) in the skin cells, it may or may not be contagious at this time. Since condoms don't cover the whole genital area it's still possible to pass the virus to someone else, HPV is contracted through skin to skin contact. There are some cases of oral HPV, but it is not very common.
That's what my doctor told me. You never really know if or when HPV is dormit in your body because most of the time the warts cannot be seen. So it's really hard to tell when a person is not contagious and when they are.

A good example is the chicken pox. You get the virus, you have an outbreak, your body recognizes the virus and suppresses it, and most likely you won't have another outbreak. If you carry some of the high risk strains of HPV that cause cervical cancer you never really know if those are dormit or active. Yes. Many infected people never develop symptoms. No one knows for sure when you contagious and when the virus is dormant. Genital warts do resolve by themselves and I'm very concerned with the use of terms like "outbreaks" in this forum. An outbreak, like a rash, would go away by itself but genital warts do not. If you have genital warts removed and they do not reappear, its likely the virus has gone dormant. It may appear years later causing more warts, it may never cause any other visible symptoms. Vinegar or not.. you cant see something that is microscopic without viewing a slice under a microscope. I have seen no data to indicate that "most infected people have MANY strains" of HPV.

Yes the virus can still be spread to your partner even if no warts are present. Most of the time you do have visible sypmtoms they are just to microscopic to see. That's what happened to me. You couldn't even see mine until a vinegar solution was placed on them to bring them out. Once you haven't had an outbreak for about a year then you are not contagious with spreading the genital wart strain (low-risk types). But you might still be able to pass on the high risk starins to your partner. These can cause cervical cancer for women. When a person has HPV they most likely have more then one type strain. People with HPV usually have MANY types. So most likely the virus will be spread.

Yes, you can absolutely have unprotected sex again. But tell your potential partner that you have had HPV first, even before you have protected sex. You would be suprised how understanding some people are. Don't forget to mention that over 75% of the US population is considered to be infected with this, and most never know it. So YOU also take a chance when you sleep with someone. Remember that. Having protected sex DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL NOT INFECT YOUR PARTNER. Studies have shown that having your partner wear a condom or you wearing a condom depending on your gender really does not prevent the spreading of HPV. There is no way for you to know if you will pass the virus on, since there is no way for you to know when/if you stop becoming contagious. And yes, I've also heard if you have no abnormal paps or occurances of warts depending on which strain you have, you may consider yourself immune or at least uncontagious. Hope this helped. :)
